BSc (Hons) OT; Master of Ageing (Melbourne School of Population and Global Health)

AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist/OT Australia Member

Emma started Easy Living OT working as a solo practitioner in January 2017 and has enjoyed the scope and diversity of working with NDIS participants. As client numbers increased, due to positive feedback, we have expanded to a small, dedicated team all with slightly different skill sets.

After travelling extensively, Emma worked in Darwin, NT across nursing homes, day therapy centres and community aged care packages. Emma enjoyed hearing older people’s stories and helping them to find a sense of purpose and increasing independence.

Emma recently completed a postgraduate Master of Ageing, University of Melbourne, which provides expert knowledge from all fields about the challenges and opportunities that ageing brings.

Emma then worked in adult community health for almost a decade, visiting adults in their homes optimising safety, independence and participation. Emma works collaboratively with clients and their carers, tailoring interventions to meet their needs.

Emma recently had her final research project published in the prestigious British Medical Journal, a scoping review of end of life care for older people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, please refer to the link:

Emma has also successfully completed advanced home modifications qualifications, namely CPPACC4020A and CPPACC5016A, which are nationally recognised units in access consulting.

Emma runs Easy Living OT, holds a complex caseload and supervises all the fabulous OTs that work with her.  She has worked successfully with over 200 NDIS participants. She still likes what she does!

In December 2021, Emma successfully completed her OT Driver Assessor Training, an advanced scope of practice, enabling her to assess people’s fitness to drive. She works with both NDIS and private driving clients.

Emma has a special interest in working with adults with ME, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain, as these disabilities are poorly understood, and the global functional limitations are often underestimated. I have successfully supported many applicants to access the NDIS by providing expert tailored functional capacity assessments.
