A Milestone Moment:
Maria’s Accessible Van

Josiah is a young man with his Learner Permit who has been working with Emma to develop his driving skills using a high-level four-way joystick controller.

For Josiah, being able to get behind the wheel is more than just learning to drive — it’s about independence, freedom, and keeping pace with his peers.

He’s thrilled to finally experience what so many of his friends are doing and is excited about the opportunities that driving will bring.

With his sights set on travelling to university and beyond, Josiah’s journey shows how the right supports and innovative vehicle modifications can open up a whole new world of possibilities.

These stories show just how life-changing the right supports, assessments, and modifications can be.

At Easy Living OT, we’re passionate about helping people achieve greater independence, confidence, and opportunities through driving.

We’d love to work with you so that one day, you’ll have your own amazing story to share.

Success Story: Luke’s

Journey to Independence

Maria has been part of the Easy Living OT community since the very beginning. In fact, she was one of Emma’s very first NDIS clients back in 2017 — and they’re still working together today.

Recently, Emma joined Maria to celebrate a major milestone: the arrival of Maria’s new high-level modified accessible van.

This vehicle has been custom-designed to meet Maria’s needs, giving her freedom and independence like never before.

A Milestone Moment:
Maria’s Accessible Van

For Maria, this means no longer relying on maxi-taxis or having to schedule every trip in advance.

Instead, she can now go wherever she wants, whenever she wants — whether it’s catching up

with friends, attending appointments, or simply enjoying the freedom of choice.

This transformation is a true example of how the right supports and modifications can be life-changing. Congratulations, Maria — your independence is inspiring!

With Emma, our Director and Occupational Therapist, completing the OT Driving Assessment, Luke successfully sat his P-test and achieved his probationary licence.

This achievement has opened up new opportunities for Luke. He can now enjoy greater independence — meeting friends, having lunch with his mum, and applying for jobs that require a driver’s licence.

Luke is absolutely chuffed with his success, and we couldn’t be prouder of his hard work and commitment. Well done, Luke — we wish you all the very best for the future!
